Makiga’s Appropriate Technology has helped to transform the lives of many people in East Africa.

Here are some of the projects that Makiga products have been involved in:

Maranjau Open Prison

In 2005, Mr Karanja, the Commanding Officer at Maranjau
Government of Kenya Prison, decided to purchase an
Interlocking Soil Block Press in order to upgrade the
Prison housing from mud houses to permanent buildings.

Lords Meade Vocational College in Jinja, Uganda, recently
launched a project in collaboration with Haileybury, a private
school in the UK and Makerere University, to promote ISSB and
appropriate technology in schools and local communities.
